About Mark Buckler

Mark embarked on his photographic journey while a high school student in Cape Cod, MA.  Since that time, Mark's relentless passion for photography has continued to evolve.   He completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Biology at the University of Vermont.  His experience as a wildlife field biologist further complements his photographic skill, through his deepened understanding of the nature and wildlife.  At his current residence on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, he is provided with beautiful scenery and images he captures regularly with his camera.

Mark is motivated to share his photographic knowledge with others and leads numerous customized workshops in the areas of nature photography and digital imaging.  His 15 years as a High School teacher contribute to his ability to offer unique, meaningful and enjoyable instructional workshops.  Mark is also available for presentations, workshops and private photography/digital imaging lessons.

Copies of Mark's fine art prints, including many award winning photos, are available for purchase through his website.  His work is also exhibited in several galleries in North Carolina.  Many of his images have been widely published in a variety of formats.  He also maintains a vast collection of stock photographs and is available for both editorial and commercial assignments.  He also takes beautiful family beach portraits, creating lasting memories for those who visit or live on the Outer Banks.

Mark also has a keen interest in sports photography.  His experience as a professional baseball player allows him to anticipate the drama and speed of sport in order to capture compelling action shots.  Mark's ability to react to such events has also made him successful at capturing wildlife in the natural world.  He is persistent in his photographic pursuit of fine imagery.

Mark has won local, regional and national acclaim for his wildlife and nature photography.  He was recently featured on a television program for UNC-TV about his bird photography workshops and his involvement in the Wings over Water festival which was held in the Outer Banks. Mark is a board member of the Carolinas Nature Photographers Association (CNPA) and an active member in the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA).
